I'm really sorry to report this to everyone, but The CW has canceled The Secret Circle according to TVLine. IT was a great season and amazing season finale last night, too bad it wasn't enough.

RIP The Secret Circle, you'll always live on in LJ Smith's great trilogy.

I've posted the promo for 1x22 - Family in the right sidebar, check it out! Looks exciting!

However, the rest of The CW's schedule still has some pretty big question marks. What's to come for The Secret Circle, Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie, Ringer, and Nikita? Of those shows, Gossip Girl has the best chance at renewal, followed by Nikita. Ringer is almost certainly a goner, and The Secret Circle and Hart of Dixie are both in danger.

The CW will hold its upfront presentation on May 17, so we'll know what its 2012-2013 schedule looks like by then.

The CW has released the synopsis of what the season finale 1x21 - Family will be about:
CASSIE AND DIANA UNLEASH THEIR DARK MAGIC, CHARLES AND DAWN GET A SHOT AT RESTORING THEIR POWERS AND FAYE FIGHTS FOR HER LIFE IN THIS JAW-DROPPNG SEASON FINALE  — After Faye is attacked by the Witch Hunters, Jake, Melissa and Adam set out to save her.  Blackwell tells Cassie and Diana that the only way to stop the Witch Hunters is to use their Balcoin blood to unleash the Crystal Skull.  Diana is reluctant, but Cassie convinces her it’s the only way to help their friend, but she’ll need to tap into her dark magic to do it.  Meanwhile, Dawn and Charles are faced with a new way to get their power back...but at a very big cost.

PROM NIGHT IN CHANCE HARBOR — It's Prom night in Chance Harbor, and after Adam uncloaks a crystal hidden in the school, Blackwell tells Cassie she can use her dark magic to find it. When Cassie follows this advice, it leads her to a dangerous discovery. Faye invites Jake to Prom, despite the fact that he stood her up two years earlier. Adam, Diana , Cassie, and Melissa finally make it to Prom, but when they lose the crystal to Eben, they end up in a life and death situation. Meanwhile Dawn attempts to stop Blackwell, who casts a deadly spell on Charles.
